Marvelous Mascots Vol. 2 - San Diego Chicken (Blog #18)

Volume 2: San Diego Chicken (Please read Volume 1. Blog #13 - Harry The Hawk - Atlanta Hawks)
Over the next few months I will be introducing you to some of my favorite sports mascots. I like these guys for a number of different reasons. Some are funny, some are athletic, and some are great dancers. Imagine, getting free tickets to all the games and getting to act crazy, and hit on women all for comedic purposes. That's impressive!
Keeping with the winged variety, today I look back at one of the ICONS of the mascot world, The San Diego Chicken. Brought to life in the late 1970's by Ted Giannoulas, The Chicken was once a mainstay of the San Diego Padres at Jack Murphy Stadium. Since the 1980's, the Chicken has be seen at major sporting events around the US and on the odd YouTube video. Perhaps the best comedy-skit performing mascot ever. Great work with kids and was the best at making fun of the games' officials. This guy still has it all!
